If you are a business looking to grow, its no doubt that you have thought about investing in SEO. I assume you know about some of the benefits of SEO if you have read our other blogs, however, that’s not the point of this blog. You’ve done the research, and are now looking to hire an SEO company for your website.
Great!
However, you might want to double check that the company you are going with are going to be able to match your needs with an effective strategy. As SEO is something that is constantly evolving and updating, you will have to keep up to date with the changes. Which is what makes SEO so hard.
Either way, here are 5 things you should look out for when hiring a SEO company:
- Experience – It is vital that you find out how long the company has been in the game for. Ideally you want to be looking for those who have been in the game for 10+ years, that have worked with a range of clients. This is because they have formidable experience when it comes to the technicality of SEO. We are not saying the newer SEO companies are bad or anything, its just that they haven’t had that on hand experience, so its hard to make a decision based off of the limited proof they have.
- Testimonials/Clientele – Another rather obvious way is to ask the company for some of their previous clients or clients they are working with at the moment. The better companies tend to have a portfolio, in which they will be able to show you all the companies they have worked with. If a company is good at SEO, chances are their clients have probably stayed with them and are still working alongside them.
- Keywords – How could we forget? Keywords. You probably want to work with a SEO company to get optimal search rankings. Its important that they can show you some evidence of keywords in another industry that are performing well. This should entice you to then work with them if their work truly is effective.
- High quality links – Link building is essential in SEO. This is basically where your businesses link appears naturally in other reputable websites. Different companies will have different methods, but most SEO experts will be proud to show off their examples. If the company tries to avoid this talk, take it as a hint.
- Realism – Avoid anyone who says they can get you number one rankings in a short amount of time. No one can guarantee that this will happen as the entire process is random. Try look for someone who will be transparent and give you realistic numbers and estimates.
We hope this has given you all the information you need for when it comes to picking your next SEO Company (which hopefully will be us).
