Every 14th of February, the world becomes a place of romance. Whether or not you believe in love, the world will turn red and loving for a day. The people who have fun the most during Valentine’s day are couples. Out of 365 days, they take the chance to be the most romantic version of themselves on Valentine’s.
Even though Valentine’s is celebrated more by couples, a lot of people love to celebrate the day with their families and friends as well. Valentine’s Day date has indeed become more open and fun for everyone else. For boat enthusiasts, Valentine’s is an excuse to spend another day out on the water.
Boat enthusiasts love the waters as much as skiers love the snow. Likely, they’ll want to spend Valentine’s doing what they love. If you’re a boat enthusiast who can’t seem to think of Valentine’s date idea, this article is for you. Let’s channel our inner romantics and brainstorm 5 Valentine’s date ideas for boat enthusiasts.
1. Prepare a simple lunch or dinner date on a floating pontoon dock.
Boaters know where to find the best floating pontoon dock in an area. If you’ve visited a serene floating pontoon dock before, why don’t you consider going there on Valentine’s? If it’s a dock owned by a private business, ask if you can rent it out for an hour or two. Provided it’s a public dock that only a few know of, see if you can stay during an off-peak time.
If you don’t know a floating pontoon dock, you can do your research online. You’ll probably see one in the area that you’re planning to visit. You can also try looking into marina builder companies. Their websites can give you an idea of a great place to visit for Valentine’s, too.
If you plan to take your boat with you, I suggest you pack light. You don’t have to prepare an extravagant lunch or dinner meal. If you find a good floating pontoon dock, that setting is enough to make up for a simple yet delicious meal.
2. Have some thrill by celebrating it in a waterpark.
If you’re celebrating Valentine’s with your friends and family, I suggest you consider going to a waterpark. If you know a waterpark that allows guests to bring their boats or yachts, that is better. For a boat enthusiast like you, you can enjoy the park and do some boat activities that you please.
If you and your lover love to try a different type of date, waterparks can be great. You won’t only have fun, but also experience an adventure. Also, it’s a great place to challenge yourself and see how competitive your partner is. You can also have bets on who’ll win in a waterpark game.
If you can’t spare two days in a waterpark, a day would surely be enough for you to have a blast. This is also great if you’ve been having the usual Valentine’s date for years now. Add some thrill to your date this year by going to a waterpark. You’ll surely have a great time.
3. Onboard dates never go out of style for a boat lover.
On the other hand, if you want a peaceful and alone time with your lover, you can always choose to celebrate it on your boat instead. On your boat, you are free to personalise the date idea that you have in mind. Also, you can sail around and visit any area that you wish to. (Just make sure that boats are allowed in those areas.)
One relaxing activity that you can do onboard is to play board games. Or you can also watch a movie. I suggest not doing this if your lover has motion or seasickness. If you’re brave enough to jump in a winter icy pool, take a swim if you want to! You can do any thrilling or relaxing activity on board.
All you have to do is pack your food and other necessary items that you’ll use on your date. If you’re going to bring in some drinks, please drink moderately. Remember, you’ll be sailing a boat. That means you’ll be in the water the whole time. No matter how experienced you are, it’s best to stay cautious. So, save your hard drinks for another occasion, because you have a boat to drive back home to.
4. Have a staycation at a beach house or a resort.
Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s with your family and friends or with your lover, having a staycation is always fun. Of course, it would be two times better if it’s a beach or lakefront. That way, boat enthusiasts can rent out a boat or bring their own if possible.
If you plan to have a staycation, use this as an opportunity to destress. Staycations are a great break from your everyday routine and environment, too. Sleep in as long as you want to. Have a full body massage to recharge your body. Have a cheat day if you must!
Aside from having alone time together, both of you will surely feel relaxed after your stay. Just make sure to do what you truly want to. Take a rest if you must. What matters is that both of you are together to destress all the weight off your shoulders.
5. Learn or teach your lover how to fish. A day spent learning is a good day, isn’t it?
Lastly, why don’t you consider learning or teaching your partner how to fish? If you haven’t tried fishing yet, why don’t you take the opportunity to finally try it? Maybe there’s a store that offers fishing lessons in the area that you’re visiting. If there’s one, don’t think twice and just try it!
Who knows, maybe you and your partner will end up enjoying it? Also, wouldn’t it be fun to try something new? If you’ve already tried fishing before but did not enjoy it, maybe this time it will be different. After all, you’ll be trying it with your special someone. Maybe this time, you’ll develop an appreciation for fishing.
No matter how you choose to spend the day, I hope you’ll do so with a grateful and loving heart.
There you have it. I hope these simple Valentine’s date ideas helped you somehow. Remember, everyone has a different idea of what a perfect date is. But, if you’d spend it doing what you like, with the person that you love, wouldn’t that be just a perfect day? Happy Valentine’s Day and I hope you’ll have a blast!
