When you’re feeling down, all you want is to play some fun games with your roommates. But how can you go about doing that when everyone in your community seems to be playing video games too? Or are they just more adventurous and into board games than you are? What if we told you there were a variety of great board game night ideas that don’t involve getting your roommates drunk and playing Cards Against Humanity until the sun rises? We mean it: There are actually a ton of good reasons to have regular board game nights with your roommates. Even if one of you isn’t into it (us!), it will be a fun way to spend time together as a family. So, without further ado, here are 6 great ways to get gaming with your roommates:
Truth and Dare
Truth and dare is a classic board game that you can play with any number of players. What makes truth and dare so special is that each player holds a piece of paper with three truth statements written on it. It’s the player who is told the truth first that has to give an answer to the truth question. If the other person lies, then the truth is revealed and the opposing player gets to put their name in the hat. If the person doesn’t know the answer to the question, then they can put their name in the hat and whoever gets the answer first gets to take the dare. If someone takes the dare, they must do something that the other person has told them to do, and then they have to tell the other person what they did. This is really fun when you play with your friends. If you’re having a group of friends over, do them the favor of telling them the truth first and then see what their thoughts are on the dare.
UNO
This classic game is always a hit when played with roommates. Why? Because everyone loves to be the expert and everyone loves to be put in their place. The trick to playing UNO with your roommates is to play it slowly and let your roommates get their bearings. When you first sit down at the table, take your time looking through the cards, and don’t be afraid to ask your roommate questions. Once you’re comfortable, start the game and see what happens. If you’re having a group of friends over and they happen to be a little more advanced than you, you can always take the game in a different direction. One of the most challenging parts about playing UNO with your roommates is if anyone by chance got some nice cards then you can’t defeat them ever. So it is a game of luck and a little bit of mind. But one of the best games to remove your boredom.Ranger builds poe
Chess
Just because you and your roommates aren’t that great at board games doesn’t mean you can’t have fun playing chess! This is a great way to get your juices flowing and improve your overall game. When you first sit down at the table, start with the less advanced pieces and work your way up. Make sure to let your roommates know how you’re doing and see if they need any help. When it comes to the end game, depending on who is leading, you could be playing for hours. There’s always a sense of competition when you play chess with your roommates and you want to be on top of your game so that you can outlast your roommates. This is one of my favorite mind games but make sure you play it on board instead of mobile, then only you can feel it at the next level.
Lemon on a Spoon
This game is all about using your wit and charm to get the other person to say yes to whatever you want. What makes lemon on a spoon so great is that you can play it even when you’re not in the mood for games. It doesn’t matter if you’re down because you just got a bad grade or you’re dealing with insomnia, the lemon on a spoon game is always a fun way to kill some time with your roommates. What you need to play this game is a spoon and some lemon. You can use a regular lemon, but a store-bought lemon with a spoon inside is always better. Make sure to keep the lemon on the spoon and not in your mouth 😜 . If you’re having a group of friends over, make sure to tell them to keep the lemon on the spoon.
Simon Says
This classic game is a lot like chicken out of the fire. You start out with three chickens and you have to feed them, raise their egg-laying ability and then slaughter them. What makes this game so great is that it’s so simple anyone can play it.
Choose one Student as “Simon.” The other Students gather around Simon, who gives instructions by saying, “Simon says…” telling them to perform a physical action. For example, “Simon says touch your nose,” “Simon says shake like a leaf.” Each one must perform the action. If Simon leaves out “Simon says” before giving instruction, anyone who performed the activity is out!
If you have a group of friends over, you can just start playing and see what happens. This is also a great way to improve your social skills because you’re always learning from your roommates. You can ask them for help with any problem you’re having and then you can guide the game and see where it takes you. This is a lot of fun when you play with your friends.
20 Questions
This game is all about getting your roommates on the same page. If you’re having a group of friends over, you can play this game with your roommates and see where it takes you. What you need to play this game is a deck of cards and 20 question cards. For each question, you ask your roommates a yes or no question and you wait for them to respond. The person who first gets the 20 questions right gets to pick a card and answer a question. So, if someone gets 31 questions right, they get to pick out a card and answer 1 question from the deck. This game is really fun when you play with your friends and family. If you’re having a group of friends over and they want to play this game with you, that’s really cool.
